Gavreto is a selective RET kinase inhibitor approved for the treatment of:
- Adult patients with metastatic RET fusion-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
Recommended Dosage
- 400 mg once daily, taken orally on an empty stomach
(No food for at least 2 hours before and 1 hour after) - Continue treatment until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity
✅ If a dose is missed: take it the same day as soon as remembered.
❌ If vomiting occurs: do not retake; continue with the next scheduled dose.
Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD)/Pneumonitis: Withhold for Grade 1/2 and resume at a reduced dose; discontinue permanently for recurrence.
Hypertension: Optimize blood pressure before starting Gavreto. Monitor weekly during the first month, then monthly.
Hepatotoxicity: Monitor ALT/AST before starting, every 2 weeks for 3 months, then monthly.
Bleeding Risk: Discontinue permanently if severe or life-threatening hemorrhage occurs.
Surgical Considerations: Withhold at least 5 days before surgery; avoid for 14 days post-surgery or until wound heals.
Pregnancy: May cause fetal harm. Advise non-hormonal contraception during treatment and for 1 week after the last dose.
