NGENLA (Somatrogon-ghla) is a long-acting human growth hormone (hGH) analog indicated for the treatment of pediatric patients aged 3 years and above who experience growth failure due to inadequate secretion of endogenous growth hormone.
Recommended Dosage:
- 0.66 mg/kg body weight, administered once weekly via subcutaneous injection.
- Injection sites may include the upper arms, abdomen, thighs, or buttocks.
- Weekly injections should be given on the same day each week.
If a dose is missed, it should be administered within 3 days. After 3 days, skip the missed dose and resume on the next scheduled day. Dosing may be individualized based on patient response.
Treatment must be supervised by a healthcare provider experienced in pediatric endocrinology.
Conduct a fundoscopic examination before starting NGENLA to rule out papilledema.
Severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis or angioedema may occur; discontinue use and seek immediate medical attention if symptoms arise.
Reduced insulin sensitivity and risk of hyperglycemia may occur, especially in patients with obesity, Turner syndrome, or family history of diabetes. Monitor blood glucose levels regularly.
Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to somatrogon or any excipients in the formulation.
