ERIVEDGE (Vismodegib) is a hedgehog pathway inhibitor indicated for the treatment of:
- Adults with metastatic basal cell carcinoma (mBCC)
- Adults with locally advanced basal cell carcinoma (laBCC) that has recurred following surgery or who are not candidates for surgery or radiation
This targeted therapy blocks the hedgehog signaling pathway, which plays a key role in the development of basal cell carcinoma.
Embryo-Fetal Toxicity: ERIVEDGE can cause severe birth defects or fetal death. Contraindicated during pregnancy. Use effective contraception during and after treatment.
Blood Donation Restriction: Do not donate blood or blood products during treatment and for at least 7 months after the final dose.
Muscle Spasms and Weight Loss: Frequently reported. Monitor patient’s muscle condition and nutrition.
Menstrual Irregularities: Amenorrhea has been observed in female patients of reproductive potential.
Use with Caution in Liver and Renal Impairment: Limited data available—monitor accordingly.
